A visual journey through Brazilian Carnival, from North to South.
8 artists, 8 regions, a wordless book — and a blue macaw hidden on every page.
Cadê o Levi? No Carnaval! (Where's Levi? At Carnival!) is a wordless picture book in the wimmelbuch format (seek-and-find book). Each double-page spread is a journey through different parts of Brazil during Carnival, where little Levi, always dressed as a blue macaw, hides among street parades, animals, rhythms, and characters.
Created in collaboration with 8 Brazilian artists, each illustrated the diversity of their region in their own style. The result is a visual mosaic, full of details to discover with every new look.
Without text, each page becomes whatever story you want to tell. In your own way, in your own voice. An invitation to observe, discover, and talk about a culture that crosses generations, borders, and languages.
Levi was born in Switzerland, son of a Brazilian mother. This project began as a way to keep Brazil close to him — so he can feel this connection through images, stories, and play, and so that other children growing up far away can also carry a piece of Brazil with them.
